This week's packed lunch idea is a great option for a younger toddler who is comfortable with finger foods, but who still likes some purees. (It's also nut-free!) Use this idea as a starting off point to customize a packed lunch for your kiddo—adjusting the serving sizes as needed for the appetite and age for your child. I try to show a nice mix of carbohydrates, protein, diary, and fruit to help the little ones have balanced energy throughout the day.
- Star Pasta with (frozen and thawed) peas and carrots, olive oil, and salt
- Hard-cooked egg
- Applesauce in a reusable pouch
- Pineapple and Oaty Chomps snack bar (a new favorite!)
- Super Puffs and yogurt (this one is really low in added sugars and high in protein)
