I’m so excited to share a series that I’ve had running all week over on The Kitchn about feeding toddlers. I love getting to share my thoughts with a new audience and having a chance to write a bit about what I’m so passionate about—not just what we feed our kids, but how we related to our kids concerning food.
And even though I had a feeling that some would spark some snarly comments, especially on Facebook—and oh man, I was right**!—I’d love for you guys to check out the posts too. I’ll link to them here in case you have time for a little weekend reading.
**As a writer and content creator, it’s always an odd feeling to put a post together that you just know will spark some nasty comments. I don’t particularly feel like any of these topics are hugely controversial, but I know that we all take feeding our kids so personally that some negative opinions on my words were likely. And while Facebook is clearly so important for spreading the word about blogs and new content, it can really be a disheartening place if the comments on a post take a turn for the worse—especially on a site page with a massive following. That is not to say that anyone was being overtly mean to me, but there was one post in particular that prompted a whole lot of snarkiness. I did my best to brush it off and hope that in the grand scheme of things, these posts helped some families a bit. I’m not sure that I really needed to say any of this, but I did want to share that the internet can be a very strange place when we honestly share our opinions about things!
