When I was growing up, pastina was the food that my mom made when we weren't feeling well. It's always been an incredibly comforting food and I love that Miss Linden has picked up on that tradition—though it's more of a go-to quick lunch or dinner in our house, and she always requests peas with hers. I sometimes find myself making really elaborate, multi-step meals for our family and then realizing that simple is usually a safer bet. This, and grilled cheese or cheese quesadillas, is what I make when we're short on time.
