For this week’s toddler lunch, I thought I’d share a look at a lunch using our new LunchBots container. This lunch is ideal for a 1 or 2 year old, though you can of course serve it to an older eater (or even yourself!), adjusting portion sizes as needed. The container, which is stainless steel and super easy to clean, has three deep compartments that hold a surprising volume of food. (It’s also affordably priced!) We love this container for dry foods (and my daughter has been known to insist on using this to eat lunch outside on the weekends). Here’s at look at this week’s lunch idea:
Serve with milk or water, as you like.
- Whole grain tortilla with cream cheese and jam, rolled and sliced into spirals
- Sliced Colby Jack cheese
- Energy Bites (these are the Oatmeal Raisin Peanut Butter Bites with Puffed Flax Cereal in place of the oats and 1 teaspoon cocoa powder added in)
- Blueberry Banana Acai Granola Bites*
- Organic raisins and lentil crackers
Use Sunbutter instead of cream cheese on the tortilla.
Sub in your kiddo’s favorite crackers.
Trade out the energy bites for some sliced cucumber, zucchini, or halved cherry tomatoes to add in a veggie.
*My Super Foods is an awesome company that makes more nutritious cookies and snacks for kiddos. L loves their hero cookies, which have little super heros (girls and boys) on them and has been asking for them daily ever since we got our hands on a few boxes. Their products are also nut-free, which is helpful for sending to school/daycare. You can buy them here on amazon or at Target, Whole Foods, or other retailers.
