Try this naturally sweet smoothie filled with cherries, banana, and creamy yogurt. Add the nut butter if desired for extra protein and flavor.

  • 1 cup frozen cherries
  • 1/2 cup sliced ripe banana
  • 1 cup plain whole milk yogurt
  • 1/2 cup raw cauliflower, optional
  • 12 tablespoons peanut butter or almond butter, optional

  1. Place all ingredients into the bowl of a blender and process until very smooth. Serve immediately.

Use frozen cherries and a fresh banana for a texture that’s not too thick to drink through a straw.

Use frozen banana for a consistency that’s more like frozen yogurt.

Use a banana with brown spots for the best flavor.

Use dairy or nondairy yogurt as desired, but try to use one with fat in it to give the kids the nutrition they need for development.

Blend well to create a creamy consistency.

Sub in frozen mango or additional cherries if you’d like to skip the banana.

Pour the mixture into freezer pop molds to make homemade popsicles.

Serve in a small open cup, in a straw cup, off of a spoon for younger toddlers, or in a reusable pouch.
