With just 3 ingredients and a 5-minute method, these Banana Bites are a simple dessert perfect to share with the kids. And they are a balanced mix of nutrients, too!
Line a small baking tray or plate with parchment paper. Set aside.
Slice the bananas into rounds.
Add the chocolate chips and nut butter into a heat-safe bowl. Microwave for 60 seconds, then stir to make a smooth mixture.
Use your hands to dip 1 side of each banana slice into the chocolate, then place gently onto the parchment paper. Or, use a fork to coat each slice entirely and place gently on the paper. Top with sprinkles if using.
Pop the tray into the freezer for about 10 minutes to set the chocolate. Serve.
Notes
Store any leftover Banana Bites in a freezer bag in the freezer. This prevents the banana from browning. They are best eaten within a few days.
Use yogurt in place of the chocolate for a lower-added-sugar option.
Skip the nut butter and just use chocolate if desired.
Try sprinkling with minced peanuts and coarse salt for a Snickers-like flavor.
