With a fast cooking method, ample apple flavor, and lower added sugars, these yummy Mini Apple Tarts are a favorite dessert to share. You can make the apple filling ahead of time, too!
Warm the butter or oil in a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat.
When melted, add the apples. Stir to coat and cook for 10 minutes or until soft when poked with a fork. Stir in the cinnamon and honey.
Place the tart shells on a rimmed baking sheet. Fill each with about 2 tablespoons of the apple mixture.
Bake for 5 minutes, remove from oven to let cool for a few minutes, and serve.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Pop into the air fryer or toaster oven for 2-3 minutes at 350 degrees F to crisp the shells. (They soften as they sit in the fridge.)
Use butter or coconut oil, according to your preference.
Use any type of apple you prefer, though harder cooking apples such as Granny Smith, Cosmic Crisp, or Honeycrisp work well here.
Serve any leftover apples over yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes, chicken, pork, or another favorite meal.
