It's time for this week's Yummy Toddler Lunch idea with suggestions for a packed lunch and two snacks to fuel your little one through their day. I am assembling these with a 1 or 2 year old in mind, though you can of course serve them to an older eater (or even yourself!) if you adjust portion sizes. These are based on my toddler's food preferences and appetite size, but I hope they give you some new ideas for what to pack for your own little ones.
This toddler lunch is easy to pack, easy to eat, and doesn't require reheating. Serve with milk or water, as you like.
- Pasta with pesto
- Chickpeas (could also do peas or white beans)
- Sliced cucumber and apple (dunk into a mixture of half lemon juice and water to prevent browning)*
1. Cheerios and Babybel cheese
2. Full fat plain yogurt mixed with a little leftover quinoa and mashed blueberries (you can also put this into a pouch)
*For a slightly younger toddler, you can steam the apple briefly to soften and chop the cucumber into bite-size squares.
