During the summer, there is usually a period of a few weeks when we can find blueberries on super sale at the grocery store. I love to stock up (because I learned how to freeze blueberries the easy way) at that time to make these recipes throughout the year.
Of course, each of these blueberry recipes also works with frozen berries from the store, so we have maximum flexibility for being able to make these whenever we want!
Blueberries are high in fiber and antioxidants, plus naturally sweet flavor, which makes them a great ingredient to share with the kids. Below, find our top blueberry muffins, blueberry bars, blueberry desserts, and more!

Best Tips for Success
- Use fresh or frozen blueberries as indicated in the recipe. Usually you can do either.
- Know that wild blueberries are a great option as they have a higher antioxidant volume than conventional berries. They are sold frozen, are a bright purple color, and are often a little more expensive since the harvesting process is more labor-intensive.
- Wild blueberries are a great option to use in my toddler protein shakes as they tend not to make smoothie mixtures separate as quickly as conventional berries.
- To help blueberries from sinking to the bottom of baked goods, like my Cottage Cheese Muffins, toss them in a little flour before adding to the batter.
