Flatbread Pizza

We eat a lot of pizza in our house and since we don’t have great takeout options in our little town (hard to believe, but it’s true!) I am in the habit of making it from scratch. But I don’t always have the time or energy to make regular pizza dough, which is where Flatbread Pizza comes in.

By using a flatbread as the crust, you get the texture of real pizza crust but without the work.

And it cooks up so fast since the crust is already precooked.

Ingredients You Need

Here’s a look at what you need to make this recipe.

ingredients in flatbread pizza
  • Flatbread: Look for this in the bakery aisle of your store or near naan and tortillas.
  • Pizza sauce: You can use any brand that you prefer here.
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Grated Parmesan, optional

TIP: I like to use flatbread from the bakery aisle in our grocery store, but any will work. They come in a variety of sizes so you may need to adjust the amounts of the sauce and cheese.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add toppings to these?

Sure! Just be sure that any meat or veggies that need to be cooked are precooked—such as ground meat or sausage, bell pepper, or broccoli for best results. You can add pepperoni, thinly sliced mushrooms, olives, or spinach directly on top of the sauce and cook as directed.

Does this work as Mexican Pizza?

It’s so fun that way! I like to do half pizza sauce and half salsa, add some refried beans and use cheddar cheese. Then you can top with any taco toppings you like.

Can I adjust this for allergies?

Sure, look for alternative flatbreads at your supermarket and use a dairy-free cheese if needed
