This easy Easter idea is such a fun way to make the egg hunting fun extend all the way to snack time and lunch! All you need is plastic Easter eggs, snacks, and an egg carton. And it’s so fun for the kids to hunt and eat!
Easy Easter Idea
I love interactive kitchen activities for the kids and this Easter snack or lunch is our favorite one in the spring. You simply put the elements of lunch or snack into plastic Easter eggs and let the kids hunt and open the eggs to see what they find inside!
TIP: If you do this idea for lunch, mix up the food groups to provide a mix of nutrients.
Easter Snack Lunch
To make this snack or lunch, here’s what you’ll need to do.
- Gather one egg carton per child. Cut it so you have just the bottom for the eggs to sit into.
- Place plastic Easter eggs into each cup.
- Open each cup and fill the bottom half with a food. Close.
- Let the kids open their eggs and eat their snack or lunch however they like!
TIP: I like to use foods like dry cereal, dried fruit, diced cheese, blueberries, diced turkey or chicken, thawed frozen peas and edamame.
