Having the option to pack warm lunches for your toddler when they’re at daycare, preschool, or out on the town can go a long way towards making the endeavor seem that much easier. And since I know the market is flooded with lunch gear, I’m going to share the best kid thermos.
Best Kid Thermos for Packed Lunches
This first kid thermos is this 8-ounce stainless steel container from LunchBots. It’s a nice not-too-enormous size and the lid is pretty easy to open and tighten. It’s perfect for pasta, soup, or any other warm lunch main dish that can’t be reheated on site. If you heat and pack the food in the morning before heading out the door, it’s a perfect temperature at lunchtime. (It can also keep food cold!)
The second kid thermos is the Omie Lunchbox, which has two zones for temperatures so you can pack a hot entree and cold sides in one bento-style lunchbox. The size of the big compartment that can hold the warm foods is 7.5 ounces (so it’s similar in size to the LunchBots). It’s also shallower, which may be easier for little hands to scoop and eat from. It’s BPA and phthalate-free and the insulated portion is stainless. Learn more here.
P.S. 7-8 ounces may be more than a younger toddler or lighter eater will eat in one sitting, depending on the food, but these sizes will last as your child goes to elementary school, so they’re a good longterm investment.
Do you have another favorite kid thermos for sending toddler lunches? I’d love to hear about it!
