Welcome to YTF Community, a place to safely share in the challenges and joys of feeding our families. And make all of it easier!

Taco meat in pan with taco supplies on side.

As is the case with every year, I spent many hours cooking in the past 12 months But because I cooked much more with my boyfriend, who asks a lot of thoughtful questions about why I do what I do, I have a better sense of the things I learned and improved in my cooking this year. Which is really fun—and useful!

So here are the 15 top things that I learned this year that made cooking for my family easier. They range from easy ways to add veggies to foods (without alarming the kids!) to adding flavor to adult meals, storage hacks, easier methods, and more.

Because I know we all need a little more ease!
