Ingredients for zucchini pizza bites on countertop.
  • Zucchini: You need 1 medium zucchini to make this recipe, or 2 smaller ones.
  • Pizza sauce: I usually use jarred pizza sauce for this, though you could use homemade or even easy Marinara Sauce.
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese: This melts quickly in the oven and gives the classic pizza flavor.
  • Parmesan cheese: I like to sprinkle the pizza bites with grated Parmesan cheese for ample flavor.
  • Pepperoni, optional (or any other desired pizza toppings)

TIP: My Cottage Cheese Pizza Crust and Greek Yogurt Pizza Crust are favorites, too!

Zucchini Pizza Bites FAQs

How can I make these Zucchini Pizza Bites in the air fryer?

Yes, you can use the same method outlined below but expect it to cook about 2-3 minutes faster in each step.

What’s the best way to reheat pizza bites?

I like to place them onto a parchment lined baking sheet or toaster tray and bake at 350 degrees F for about 3-4 minutes or until warmed through. (They are also good served with a side of buttered noodles!)

Can these Zucchini Pizzas work as a baby-led weaning food?

Sure! I would probably offer one with just a little sauce and some Parmesan as the melted mozzarella may be hard to gum for a baby. You can serve some uncooked shredded cheese on the side though, if baby has their pincer grasp.

Best Tips for Success

  • Try to slice the zucchini evenly so it cooks at the same rate.
  • Use nondairy cheese if needed to make these dairy-free.
  • Add crumbled cooked Italian sausage or pepperoni.
  • Serve with toast, garlic bread, or noodles to make this a more filling meal for kids.
