Welcome to YTF Community, a place to safely share in the challenges and joys of feeding our families. And make all of it easier!

Because I know we all may feel some varying degrees of overwhelm with the holiday season approaching, I want to share a few things that have helped me be more present and able to handle all (or most) of the logistics.
These simple things are the tips I now know would have helped me enjoy these days much more when my kids were younger.
The first one helps me worry less about what my kids eat (and don’t) eat—which is huge. The second helps me ensure that my needs don’t become invisible in the chaos, which can happen so easily to moms and often makes things feel much harder.
And the third includes tips on how to make the actual cooking and prep work of holidays a little easier… a real win on holidays!

One of the biggest stressors for myself and for other families, based on messages I get each year, surround comments from other people. Because with holiday dinners and events come more opportunities for other people to notice and comment on what and how our kids are eating.
And possibly make us feel badly about what our kids eat…and don’t eat.
Which means that I do my best to remind myself that people can have opinions, but I am not going to allow them to make me feel like a failure as a mom.
Or make me feel like my kid is a failure for eating differently than someone expects them to.
