Welcome to YTF Community, a place to safely share in the challenges and joys of feeding our families. And make all of it easier!

Answering your questions is one of the best parts of my work, so today we have three that I hear versions of all the time in my inbox.
First, what to make for lunch when the kids are tired of the usual go-tos. Then how to stash the freezer with food—and not let it die a slow death in the back of the freezer. And a general discussion about weight gain in kids.
I have tips, easy ideas, and resources to share on all three, so read below for the full info.
And as a reminder, members of the YTF Community get full access to bonus posts like this one each week, weekly meal plans, a fully ad-free experience across the Yummy Toddler Food website, and additional bonus content. Your direct support of my site also helps to make my content possible in a world where Google is increasingly using recipes from creators like me to fuel AI models without permission or compensation. All of which is to say: Thank you for being part of this community and for supporting my work and recipes.

Wow, beautifully answered re the weight question! I’m a dietitian who works in an environment with kids and have always been so careful about food and body talk with my own children. Four years in, I’m already starting to see and hear other “voices” on the topic reach my little daughter’s ears. Your message, from a spirit of inclusivity, trust, and our OWN self awareness, is one I’m grateful to hear and elevate out in the world. Thank you.
You’re welcome. And I have also decided that all we can do is our best in our homes, which I sincerely hope will mitigate what other things the kids will hear out in the world. So far, my older kids have really great awareness of diet culture, which is kind of amazing!
