Welcome to YTF Community, a place to safely share in the challenges and joys of feeding our families. And make all of it easier! This is a weekly members post with advice and encouragement.

We have three reader questions today that cover 1.) How to know the difference between pickiness and a kid simply disliking a food, 2.) How to reduce processed foods (including what that term means and how to consider this idea without shame, ahem horrible Mike Tyson ad), and 3.) Fast weekday breakfasts that are actually filling.
Here we go!
“How can you tell the difference between a picky eater and a kid really just not liking a food? Because it seems like I should be able to tell with my son but I can’t…I’m so frustrated because I don’t ever know if I should give him other food or stay strong.” —Lyndsey
This can be one of the most frustrating parts of being a toddler parent because you are right—it is often hard to tell.
Here’s my super simple formula to know which one it is, with a large degree of certainty.
